His Wife, Efrat Dor
Efrat Dor was born on 6 January 1983 in Be’er Sheva, Israel, to a family of Ashkenazi Polish-Jewish descent. Raised in its neighboring affluent town of Omer, she was the daughter of a writer and an engineer and had three brothers. Her grandmother’s parents and her uncle were all tragically murdered by the Germans during the Holocaust, a fact that has had a profound impact on her life.
Dor attended Eshel Ha’Nasi high school, where she studied drama and trained as a ballet dancer at the Bat-Dor Beer-Sheva professional dance school in Beersheba. She then went on to pursue a more intensive study of acting at the Beit Zvi School for the Performing Arts in Israel and the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York. Her strong background in both acting and dancing has made her a versatile and successful performer, with a wide variety of roles in television and film.
Efrat Dor has appeared in numerous films and television shows. She began her professional career in 2007 and made her feature film debut in 2009 in the Israeli film Phobidilia, which featured at the Berlin International Film Festival. Dor first gained recognition in Israel in 2010 for her role as Shir Ambar in the TV drama Asfur and later went on to be nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series at the Awards of the Israeli Television Academy in 2012 for her role as a police recruit Alex Yudayov in Achat Efes Efes. In 2017, Dor attracted attention for her portrayal of the Polish sculptor Magdalena Gross in the Niki Caro film The Zookeeper’s Wife alongside Jessica Chastain. In 2018, Dor starred in the English-language French film Holy Lands and in 2019 she won acclaim for her portrayal of con artist Lizzie DeLaurentis in the third season of Amazon’s hit show Sneaky Pete. Later that year, Dor was cast in the regular role of Eva McCulloch in the latter half of season six of The Flash.
