The Fast & Furious Late Star, Paul Walker

Paul Walker was born on September 12, 1973, in Glendale, California. He was raised by his parents Paul William Walker III and Cheryl (Crabtree) Walker, alongside his two brothers, Caleb and Cody, and two sisters, Ashlie and Amie. He was of English and German descent and was very active in sports throughout his childhood, including soccer and surfing.

Walker was cast in the family sitcom Throb during the first season and began modeling until he received a script for the 1994 movie Tammy and the T-Rex. He graduated from Village Christian High School in Sun Valley, California in 1991, and upon returning from college he decided to pursue a career in acting, with encouragement from his friends and an old casting agent who remembered him as a child.

Paul Walker had a meteoric rise in Hollywood, beginning with his role in the campy, but surprisingly fun film Meet the Deedles (1998). His popularity increased with Pleasantville (1998), in which he starred opposite Reese Witherspoon as the town stud. His roles in the teen hit American Boys (1999), Elle Est Trop Bien (1999) and The Skulls, Société Secrète (2000) further cemented his celebrity status and he was even chosen to be featured on the cover of Vanity Fair’s annual Hollywood issue in April 2000. The blockbuster hit Fast and Furious (2001) raised his stardom to an even higher level, making Paul Walker one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood.

Tragically, Paul Walker died in a car crash on Saturday, November 30, 2013, after attending a charity event for “Reach Out Worldwide”. Several of his films were released after his death, including Hours (2013), Brick Mansions (2014), and his final starring role in The Fast and the Furious series, Fast & Furious 7 (2015). The film’s closing scenes paid tribute to Walker, whose character met with a happy ending and rode off into the sunset.
