Solomon Marrow gained the limelight and became famous because of his son, who became a popular rapper, songwriter, and producer. Solomon was an African American by nationality and was employed as a conveyor belt mechanic at the Rapistan Conveyor Company, for several decades. He married Alice Marrow from a Louisiana Creole background. Alice was born in April 1909, in Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina, USA.
Tracy Lauren Marrow, better known by his stage name Ice-T, was born on February 16, 1958, in Newark, New Jersey, U.S. to the couple. The family moved to upscale Summit, New Jersey at the time Ice-T was still a child. Alice Marrow passed away in January 1967, at the age of 57, leaving behind her husband, Solomon Marrow, and son Tracy (Ice-T). She died of a heart attack when her son Ice-T was just nine years old. Solomon Marrow raised his son as a single father for four years, with the help of a housekeeper. Solomon also died of a heart attack on 18 May 1971, leaving his son orphaned.
Ice-T became a father of a daughter when he was only 18 years old, with his high school girlfriend Adrienne. They gave birth to LeTesha Marrow, on March 20, 1976. LeTesha Marrow is a writer, director, reality TV star, and actress. Ice-T and his second girlfriend Darlene Ortiz have a son named Tracy Marrow Jr., born on November 23, 1991. Tracy Marrow Jr. become a member of his dad’s band Body Count, performing backup vocals! Ice-T married swimsuit model Nicole “Coco” Austin in January 2002. They renewed their wedding vows on June 4, 2011, celebrating their impending ninth wedding anniversary. They have a daughter, Chanel Marrow who was born on November 28, 2015.
