Patricia Kathryn Johnston is the only child of actress Kathryn Grayson. She was born on October 7, 1948, to the actress and her then-husband, Jonnie Johnston, an American singer and actor. She has five half-siblings from her father’s side.

Personal Life

Regarding her personal life, Patricia Kathryn Johnston married actor Robert Towers. Her husband has appeared in television shows such as Raven’s Home, Victorious, Hanna Montana, and Star Trek: The Next Generation. There are no details on when Patricia and Robert married, but they are parents to two children, Jordan and Kristin.

Patricia’s son is part of a rock band called SomeKindaWonderful, based in Cleveland, Ohio. Jordan, a songwriter and singer formed the band in 2013 after linking up with some musicians.

Patricia’s mother started singing at 12; she often participated in music festivals. In the early 1940s, she was trained in acting, making her first appearance in the film Andy Hardy’s Private Secretary. Patricia’s mother appeared in Rio Rita, Seven Sweethearts, and The Vanishing Virginian the following year.

Patricia’s mother starred in 1943’s Thousands Cheer. In the film Two Sisters from Boston, Kathryn co-starred with June Allyson; however, she was supposed to appear with Judy Garland, and the title would have been An American Symphony. Whenever Patricia’s mother did not land acting roles, she would revert to singing.

In 1945, Kathryn Grayson appeared in the movie Anchors Aweigh alongside Frank Sinatra and Gene Kelly. The film did well as it was among the top five best movies of that year earning close to 5 million dollars. In the late 1940s, Patricia’s mother appeared in The Kissing Bandit, It Happened in Brooklyn, and That Midnight Kiss.

In 1951, Patricia’s mother appeared in Grounds for Marriage as Ina Massine; the same year, she portrayed Magnolia Hawks in Show Boat. Patricia’s mother also worked with Warner Bros; her first appearance was on the musical The Desert Song. Kathryn also appeared in So This Is Love, General Electric Theater, and Murder, She Wrote.

In the 1980s and 1980s, Patricia’s mother appeared in fewer television shows and movies. Her last act was The Masters Behind the Musicals.

Patricia Kathryn Johnston’s mother was married twice; she first married actor John Shelton in July 1941. They had dated for 18 months; however, their marriage was short-lived. Patricia’s mother divorced John Shelton based on mental cruelty. Kathryn then met actor and singer Johnnie Johnston, and they exchanged their wedding vows in Carmel, California, on August 22, 1947.

All was well in their relationship; the following year, they were blessed with a daughter, Patricia Kathryn Johnston. Things were fantastic between Patricia’s parents until they separated in November 1950. It is unclear if Kathryn met another man after divorcing Patricia’s father in 1951.

Patricia’s mother died on February 17, 2010, at her Los Angeles home aged 88.
