Milan Ivey is the son of American rapper Artis Leon Ivey Jr., professionally known as Coolio. Singer Coolio is best known for his 1995 Grammy Award-winning hit track “Gangsta’s Paradise”. He also has hit singles such as “Fantastic Voyage” (1994), “1, 2, 3, 4 (Sumpin’ New)” (1996), and “C U When U Get There” (1997).
Coolio’s first single, “Whatcha Gonna Do?” was released in 1987. Along with Nu-Skool, he recorded the 1988 song “What Makes You Dance (Force Groove)”. In 1991, Coolio joined the WC and the Maad Circle group, which was led by rapper WC. Thanks to connections he developed in the L.A. rap scene. In the band’s debut album Ain’t a Damn Thing Changed, he is listed as a co-contributor and appears on the song “Dress Code” in particular.
Like his father, Milan Ivey is a hip-hop musician. He performs under the Pharaoh Santana alias. The 26-year-old’s passion for music was a legacy from his father.

According to the rapper’s Spotify page, he dropped his debut single in 2020. After that, he released his debut album titled PS1 the following year. Milan’s musical career seems to be doing just fine, with thousands of streams and an expanding audience.
Milan Ivey’s Father Died in 2022
In a friend’s residence in Los Angeles, California, on September 28, 2022, Coolio was found unconscious on the toilet floor. First responders declared him dead. When Coolio passed away, he was 59 years old. Although no foul play was suspected, the police investigated his death. Coolio’s manager stated that it looked like he had a cardiac attack.
There was no funeral service as Coolio was cremated in a private ceremony. The remainder of his ashes were subsequently placed in an urn, with some encased in jewelry for his family.
Coolio’s Television Appearances
In 2004, Coolio appeared as a participant on the German talent show Comeback – Die große Chance, which featured musicians seeking a comeback. Also, he participated in Celebrity Big Brother 6 in 2009 as a housemate, finishing third. Later, in 2010, he made appearance on the UK’s Ultimate Big Brother, when he chose to leave the house following multiple arguments with Nadia Almada and other contestants.
Coolio participated in Rachael vs. Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off on the Food Network in January 2012 as one of eight celebrities representing the Music Saves Lives Organization. In a guest appearance on Sabrina The Teenage Witch, he also played himself.
Furthermore, the ABC reality series Wife Swap included Coolio in its March 5, 2013, episode. However, his ex-girlfriend dumped him after the show was recorded. In addition, Coolio participated in the UK game show Tipping Point: Lucky Stars on June 30, 2013, with comedian Jenny Eclair and actor Matthew Wolfenden from Emmerdale, where he placed second.
For the 2014 episode of the Adult Swim series Black Jesus titled “Gangsta’s Paradise,” Coolio appeared as a guest star. He sang on ABC’s Greatest Hits in July 2016.
